Engineering basis
This model separates measured or published inputs from adjustable planning margins. Every proposal carries the assumptions forward.
The engine uses the 2025 ITU-R P.1238-13 site-general indoor model with environment-specific coefficients and full 3D transmitter-to-receiver distance. A design fade reserve is applied separately.
Each direct ray is intersected with the drawn walls. Loss is added only when the ray crosses the wall below its modeled height. Defaults are editable because thickness, moisture, reinforcement and incidence angle matter.
Human bodies are modeled as probabilistic line-of-sight blockers inside occupancy zones. The app integrates expected blockers over the complete low ray, then applies one capped planning loss. Splitting a crowd into adjacent zones does not add loss; overlapping zones use the highest density, not the sum.
The 7 dB single-blocker reference and 12 dB aggregate cap are engineering assumptions, not a calibrated 2.4 GHz venue measurement.
Phones are treated separately. Receivers do not load an Auracast broadcast, but active Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices share 2.4 GHz and can increase collision risk. The app converts ambient channel use and active-device duty into an explicit, capped interference reserve; commissioning still requires a spectrum and listening survey.

CASTER profiles currently use a 10 dBm planning ceiling and a generic antenna reference. Confirm regional limits, actual power, antenna configuration and mounting with the manufacturer; these are not validated product radiation patterns.
